What’s the main inspiration for your art?
The inspiration of my art is various, such as, The collor and structure of old masters, a stll life made in my studio, old maps.
What is the biggest goal you try to achieve with your art?
When I have finished a work the next must be better, that’s why I keep going.
What’s your favorite thing about being an abstract artist?
When you work as an abstract painter you have no example, you have to make your own composition, colour, form, and therein lies the challenge for me.
Why did you choose to pursue abstract art and not other styles?
Abstract is not the only style for me, but the most important. I also make abstracted landscapes, and my guilty pleasure is painting flower still lifes.
What’s one thing people might not know about you and your art journey so far?
Art history is very important for me. I have learned a lot of the old masters, about their work and philosophy. In addition to my work as an artist, I work in the Singer Laren museum.
Did you always know you’d be an artist or how has your art journey progressed?
After high school I went to art academy.
In your opinion, what’s the most important personal characteristic needed for a career as an artist?
Be yourself and work hard, don’t wait for inspiration, when you’re at work you get inspiration.
What advice would you give up and coming abstract artists?
The same answer as before, be yourself, don’t wait for inspiration and work hard.
What’s your most fulfilling and enjoyable experience as an artist so far?
I feel honored that people want to buy my work.
Where do you see yourself and your art in 5 years?
I see myself hanging in a gallery.
